This feature allows you to insert a comment on a specific word or text block within the current document. An editable comment box is created and you can add comment on the Comments task pane.
Insert a comment
- Place the cursor on the word you wish to insert a comment for or select the word as a block.
- Click Insert-Comment. A comment mark appears around the selected word and memo box is added to the Comments task pane.
- A comment balloon is created to the right of the selected word.
- Type information inside the comment box.
Edit a comment
- Click View-Task Pane to open the task pane and go to the Comments tab. If there are comments added to the document, comment marks appear on the editing screen and the comments are listed on the Comments task pane.
- Select the comment you want and then edit its contents on the Comments task pane.
Delete a comment
- Click View-Task Pane to open the task pane and go to the Comments tab. If there are comments added to the document, comment marks appear on the editing screen and the comments are listed on the Comments task pane.
- Do one of the following:
- Click the delete icon in the upper right corner of the comment box.
- Right-click the commented word and click Delete Comment from the menu list.

New Comment Button
Click New Comment to add a new comment at the current location.
Show/Hide Comment Icon
Click the show/hide icon within the comment area to show or hide the comment content added to the document.
Delete Comment Icon
Click the delete icon within the comment area to delete the comment.

Add comments within the Comments task pane
You can add a comment by clicking the New Comment button on the Comments task pane that appears when you click View-Task Pane. Comments are added at the current cursor position, and this menu is disabled if you select an object to which adding comments is not allowed.
