This function gathers and manages defined names. Check defined names on a list and edit, delete or rename them.
Steps
To define and delete a name
- Click Formula-Name-Name Manager.
- In the Name Manager dialog box, click the Add Name icon .
- In Add Name dialog box, type Online Office in Name. After selecting the cell A1 in Reference Area and click OK.
- In the Name Manager dialog box, select “Online Office” from the list and click the Delete Name icon .
- You are prompted to confirm the deletion.
- Click Yes. The name “Online Office” will be deleted from the list.
- Click OK in the Name Manager dialog box.

Name Manager List
If you define a name, the name will be added to the name manager list. The list displays the name, and reference area of defined names.

The following icons are displayed at the bottom of the list in the Name Manager dialog box.

Name
Define the selected area a name. If you type a name and click OK, the new name will be added.
You can use duplicate names in different rage, but you cannot use duplicate names in the same range.
Range
Select a range for the defined name. If you select a certain sheet or workbook, you can use names defined in the sheet or workbook.
Reference Area
Check the cell area to which the name refers, and specify your own if necessary.

Checking defined name in name box
If you click the drop-down arrow next to the name box, you can check a list of defined names. Up to 100 defined names are displayed in the name box. When there are more than 100 defined names, you can check them in the Name Manager dialog box.
