Customize the display format.
Change to social security number format
Perform the following to change the data number format.
- Select the resident social security number entered incorrectly.
- Click Format-Number Format-More Number Format.
- In the Number Format dialog box, under Category, click Special.
- Click Social Security Number in the Type list.
- In the Number Format dialog box, click OK to close the dialog box and apply the selected format.

Cells formatted as accounting display the money sign and number in the same place, regardless of the number of digits.

Format a numeric value into text and display as entered. If a cell value formatted as text is used in a formula, it is not included in the calculation.

Display numeric values in the form of zip codes, phone numbers, and social security numbers.

You can select any number format of choice.
Sample
Preview the data in the cell to which the specified display format is applied.

Apply the settings.
Cancel Button
Discard settings and close the dialog box.
