This document describes the functional limitations of Online Office v2.4.0.
Overview
Collaboration mode means that a document is open in two or more browser tabs simultaneously.
Limitations
Common
- The maximum document size that can be opened:
- Word Processor: 50MB
- Spreadsheet: 60 MB
- Presentation: 200 MB
- It’s not possible to open a document with a write password set to read-only mode. However, you can open documents with an open password set.
Word Processor
- During collaborative mode, the chart function is disabled because it is not possible to add/edit charts.
- In a collaborative situation, the merge/unmerge cells feature in a table is disabled.
- The maximum row/column value in a table is 34 rows/17 columns. Note that a document that contains a table that exceeds the maximum can be opened still.
- If a data (string) exceeds 100,500 in length, it cannot be pasted. If the string exceeds approximately 20,000 characters (1 byte per char), it cannot be pasted.
- Chart objects cannot be copied/cut.
- If you select and paste external content that includes both text and image, only the text will be pasted into Online Word Processor.
Spreadsheet
- A document that contains properties that are lost when saved will be opened in read-only mode.
- Documents that contain more than 30,000 formulas are opened in read-only mode
- Documents that contain more than 8,000 recalculated formulas are opened in read-only mode.
- It’s not possible to copy more than 10,000 cells at once.
- It’s not possible to paste more than 5,000 cells at once.
- It’s not possible to paste data (string) length that exceeds 1,000,000.
- The number of cells that autofill cannot exceed 5,000 at a time.
- It’s not possible to sort more than 200,000 rows at once.
- When you create a PivotTable, the source data can't exceed 500 cells.
- When you edit a PivotTable, the PivotTable range can't exceed 500 cells.
- The maximum number of columns that is allowed is 520 (SZ columns). If you open a document with more than 520 columns, you can view up to 520 columns (SZ columns) only.
Presentation
- Documents with 300 slides or more can’t be opened.
- It’s not possible to paste HTML that exceeds 245 KB.
- Slides from another WebPresentation document can’t be pasted.
- When you paste a slide from a program outside the WebPresentation, it is pasted as an image.
- Text boxes that contain date and time formats are not editable.
- During collaborative mode, the chart function is disabled because it is not possible to add/edit charts.
- Chart objects cannot be copied, cut, or duplicated.
- When you edit and save a document containing embedded fonts, the fonts are removed (due to lack of support for font licensing terms).When you open a saved document with embedded fonts, the message below appears which allows you to open the document in edit or read-only mode.
- Ink annotations will not be saved when you end a slide show.
